Symbolic Meaning of Borobudur

As a Buddhist sacred building, a place of worship and dedicated to the glorify Buddha, is in a form of Buddhist cosmology in achieving nirvana which includes the great three levels namely Kamadhatu means the world of desire, Rupadhatu is the world of form, and Arupadhatu has a meaning the world of formlesness. The three realms of Buddhist cosmology perfectly describe into bhurloka which means the earth, bhuvarloka is dealing which means atmosphere and svarloka goes to which means heaven, its all symbolizing the hill of virtue, considered as a symbol of the Universe.

The concept of the Virtue is for Buddhism mostly, in his wise teachings of Buddha once instructed his students to burn his corpse after entering nirvana, and store the ashes in a place called a stupa. When asked what the stupa meant, the Master in great wisdom folded his clothes on the ground, then placed slowly his beggar's bowl upside down on it, and put his cane right on top of the bowl. This drawing instructions results in a construction form which usually consists of a square base shape, a semicircular dome shape, and a peak shape.

So that the symbolic meaning of the Buddhist sacred building Chandi Borobudur has two meanings originating from within Mahayana Buddhism, and from the sacred building of worship as a form of worship to ancestors. The ten terraces that belong to Borobudur are a form of the level of perfection from the depiction of the structure which then corresponds to the ten successive stages that a Bodhisattva must achieve before reaching the Buddhahood.

The respect for tradition that Borobudur displays is a further interpretation of the high esteem the founder of Chandi Borobudur has for the ancestors he identified with Buddha; and the architectural form of a stepped pyramid with a stupa on top is a symbol that best describes the virtues that the dynasty had accumulated successively along the Bodhisattva Path.

The thing that underlies this doctrine is the belief that life is misery. Basically this world is not real; life in all its aspects is an illusion. It changes all the time, and nothing is permanent in it. Life is a continuation of the previous life, and preparation for the next, a station in an endless cycle of birth and rebirth. The form and conditions within each of the 4 stations are determined by their predecessors.

Buddhism

Buddhism is about the Buddhist monks, pilgrims meditating, on the highest peak of the stupa. In getting the sense that there is no god to be worshipped, explaining that Buddhism was not originally a religion. It is rather a doctrine that explains how to attain ultimate liberation from all suffering: eliminating all forms of karma, destroying the suffering of samsara, and ultimately attaining nirvana.

The factor doesn't come from the station, but it's all about karma, the balance between good and bad deeds. Balance in a positive form will secure a better future life, and an ever-increasing life will culminate in a rebirth in heaven. Therefore, the ultimate goal is how to avoid all forms of rebirth. At this final stage, the devotee has attained an arhat to enter nirvana, which is absolute nothingness.

The Four Noble Truths explain how a supreme salvation from samsara can be attained. The belief that life is suffering, this is the first Truth. The second mentions that suffering, which is caused by desire - the desire to live and has attached to the phenomenal world. The third truth is that suffering can be relieved by extinguishing desire. The fourth is all that is formulated in the Eightfold Path, showing the way in which craving can be extinguished.

All these paths consist of the following steps: 1. Right views, 2. Right thoughts and goals, 3. Right speech, 4. Right conduct, 5. Right livelihood or work, 6. Right spirit, 7. Right memory, which maintains right and puts aside wrong, 8. Right meditation.

Desire is the fundamental source of suffering, the result of illusive insight. The ultimate source of all suffering is avidya or ignorance.
